I recently joined the project to build the Blossom Retreat website because we wanted to create a digital home that we could own completely. Blossom Retreat is a resort in the Chiplun sector of Maharashtra and it has been listed on Airbnb for about five months now. The purpose of this website was to share updates about who we are and how we do things instead of just being a listing. We wanted a place that we could call a home for the brand so we could build a connection with our guests. My first goal was to look at the property photos and start thinking about the brand identity that we needed to build. I wanted to make sure that the digital experience matched the physical experience of staying at the resort. This phase was about understanding the vibe so I could translate it effectively into a functional website design for everyone.

The logo distills the dual nature of the resort into abstract geometry by using four flowing curves that radiate from a calm center. These curves suggest growth and natural balance without using literal flowers or leaves that would make the brand feel too rustic. The negative space and minimal stroke weight echo premium brands like Stripe and Apple to signal a sense of accessible luxury to the users. By keeping the mark purely geometric and scalable it works perfectly as a small favicon or as a large hero image on the site. The dual color system uses Warm Brown for an approachable light mode and Pale Sage for a grounded dark mode depending on the context. This allows the mark to feel both cozy and contemplative which is exactly the kind of atmosphere we wanted for Blossom Retreat. It is intimate enough to feel like a home but sophisticated enough to feel like a destination worth planning a trip for today.

After looking at the photos and the brand identity I sat down to brainstorm the specific features that we wanted to implement for the site. Since this is a resort the entire purpose was to create an environment that felt like more than just a business for the owners. We wanted to build a community and help people understand who we are and what makes our approach to hospitality different from others. To do that I explored several features including a property showcase that would put the beauty of the resort right at the forefront. We actually visited the property in person to click new pictures so that we had the most accurate representation of the space. When I got back it was time to start brainstorming the homepage to ensure the user felt the vibe immediately. I wanted the visitor to know exactly what they would feel the moment they stepped onto the grounds of our resort in Chiplun.

Hero Section

Considering that our resort is based in a very quiet and natural environment we decided that our main tagline should be come home to yourself. I decided to put a property photo on the left side of the hero section and place the tagline on the right side to create a balanced look. Below that I added the specific location and listed things that people can do while staying at the farm stay on the property. We highlighted experiences like listening to bird songs or the sound of rain while drinking warm tea to set the right mood for guests. Then I added the main call to action buttons so that people could either reserve a room on Airbnb or call us to book directly. This simple layout helps the user focus on the feeling of the resort while giving them the information they need to take action. It was important to make the booking process as easy as possible while still maintaining the overall aesthetic of the homepage.

While scrolling down the page I wanted to showcase the surroundings of the property so that guests know they are in a premium nature location. I included photos of the local ghats and added a personal quote from the property owner to give the site a more human touch. Then I included specific insights about the land like the fact that it covers five acres and has five bedrooms for the guests. We also mentioned that we have over forty varieties of crops and that there are three thousand stars visible in the night sky. I showcased the reception photograph and then put all the property photos from the bathrooms to the bedrooms and the dining area. This gives a full view of the interior and exterior spaces so there are no surprises when people arrive at the resort. Showing the entire property in detail helps build trust and allows the visitors to imagine themselves enjoying the quiet space.

I showcased two of the most beautiful videos of the property that we recorded during our visit to add more movement to the website. Then I included an Airbnb embed and a map embed along with a blog and a celebrate page to help build our local community. The celebrate page is like an event page where we can share what is happening at the property right now for all our guests. In the blog section I decided to use Contentful CMS[1] because the user interface is very good and it has a built-in content delivery network. It is clean enough to use and it makes managing the content much easier for the owner who will be posting regular updates. We also used Contentful for the celebrate page so that everything is organized in one central place for the resort management. Having a dedicated space for thoughts and events helps the website feel alive and updated rather than just a static brochure.

For the support section of the website I have a theory that the best method is to connect people directly to a human being. I do not like asking people to jump through automated voice systems or talk to an AI chatbot when they have a simple question. Since we already had the phone numbers on the homepage I created a support form using my proprietary technology called Aldform. This form allows a user to fill in their name and contact number which then sends an immediate notification to the owner. It also sends a notification to me so that we can both ensure the person is contacted as quickly as possible for their booking. This direct connection makes the support feel more personal and aligns with the hospitable nature of the resort itself. We wanted the technology to facilitate human connection rather than get in the way of the relationship we are building.

After the planning was done it was time to build everything using my site reliability engineering book which is also a custom Claude skill[2]. I drafted a detailed markdown file and created a environment file with all the credentials that we needed for the various services. Then I set up the content model on the Contentful CMS and used the Claude Opus 4.7[3] model to build out the site. The entire website was ready in about twenty to twenty five hours because I had to iterate a lot to meet my high standards. My SRE book[4] is a five hundred page set of standards that I have created over five years of experience in the engineering field. These standards ensure that the quality of the website remains very high and that the final product is reliable for all our users. Using these advanced tools allowed me to focus on the creative aspects while maintaining a very solid technical foundation.

Loading Speed Optimization: Before vs After

Load Time (Seconds) / Platform Performance

Since we used a tech stack involving Next.js and Vercel along with Cloudflare the SEO and the design of the website are now much better. We have reached up to fifteen thousand clicks and the conversion rate for bookings has increased significantly since the launch of the site. Most importantly the site loading speed was decreased a lot because of the heavy optimization we implemented for all the media. I used Bunny CDN instead of building a custom content delivery network for the resort because it offered the right level of performance. By using the Next image component and special video streaming services the site remains fast even with high quality photos and videos. This optimization ensures that every visitor has a smooth experience regardless of the device or the internet connection they are using. The combination of speed and high quality visuals makes the website feel premium and professional to every person who visits.

Blossom Retreat’s website stands as a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality, and the credit truly goes to Om for his exceptional web development skills. From the moment you land on the homepage, the design feels calm, inviting, and aligned with the retreat’s serene philosophy. Navigation is smooth, loading speed is excellent, and every section is thoughtfully structured to guide visitors effortlessly. What impressed me most is Om’s ability to understand the essence of the brand and translate it into a digital experience. The visuals, layout, and responsiveness across devices reflect both technical expertise and creative insight. "A great website is not just built, it is crafted with vision, and Om has done exactly that for Blossom Retreat." Highly recommended for anyone looking to build a professional, elegant, and impactful online presence.

The journey of building the Blossom Retreat website has been a rewarding experience that allowed me to combine technical skill with creative vision. We managed to create a digital space that feels like a home and accurately represents the peaceful environment of the resort in Chiplun. The founder is very happy with the final result and the metrics show that the new site is performing well for the business. It is great to see how a well designed website can impact the growth of a new property and help build a community. If you are interested in building your own website you can contact me through the connect button on the navigation bar of the site. I am always looking for new projects where I can apply my engineering standards to create something truly impactful and unique. I hope you enjoyed reading about my process and the story behind the creation of this new digital home for the resort.
